Co-educational Boarding

Our modern co-educational Boarding House

Guildford Grammar School’s new contemporary co-educational Boarding House opened in March 2021 during our 125th anniversary year.

The world-class Boarding House is located on the northern side of Terrace Road, providing stunning views across the banks of the Swan River, looking out over our magnificent 100 hectare campus to the river.

Our unrivalled facilities can accommodate up to 140 boarders with separate and secure living areas for girls and boys, and both single sex and co-educational social lounges, as well as flexible meeting rooms, kitchen facilities, media lounges and study spaces for relaxation, study and group gatherings.

The Boarding House also accommodates several residential staff and their families and contains a dedicated parent lounge for students to welcome their parents. The bright, comfortable and contemporary spaces are designed for modern day living and with our boarders’ needs at the forefront.

Recreational opportunities

Our spacious campus on the leafy banks of the Swan River is ideal for sport and recreation. There is plenty of space for our boarders to explore, be free and have fun!

In addition to the School’s comprehensive co-curricular program, Guildford Grammar School boarders enjoy an extensive program that is aimed at providing a full and rich boarding experience. Recreational activity is critical to ensure our boarders enjoy a healthy balance of leisure and study time.

The School has a dedicated Boarding Recreation Officer who develops a program of activities designed to appeal to a wide range of interests and pursuits. Activities can include:

  • Theme parks
  • School socials
  • Quiz nights
  • Visits to the beach
  • Markets and restaurants
  • Movies
  • Roller skating
  • The zoo

And so much more!

Within the School campus, boarders can also play sport, swim, go fishing, ride bikes or exercise around our expansive grounds.

Students can also play or listen to music. Our music program is the most vibrant and varied in the State, with 28 Senior School music ensembles. Tuition is available on a large selection of instruments.

Dining Hall

Our chefs and in-house catering team provide an exceptional range of food for our boarders, overseen by a dietitian with healthy options, full salad bar, stocked fruit bowl and hot options available at every meal.

All boarders dine together each evening in the school Dining Hall, reflecting family meal times, with a formal dinner service one day per week. Special occasions and holidays are often celebrated with decorations and themed menus. The Dining Hall menu offers variety across a range of different cuisines and is changed regularly. View a sample menu here.

Our new Boarding House includes kitchenettes throughout to support our boarders in developing their independence and culinary skills.
