Swimming Pathways

Event Highlights and Key Dates

Mark your calendar and register early! These events offer critical opportunities to qualify, perform, and represent Guildford Grammar School:

  • 15 February (Sat) – Open Water Swim (City to Scarbs)
  • 18 February (Tue) – House Swimming Carnival
    Key team selection opportunity for Quads, PSA, and ACC.
  • 22 February (Sat) – GKDSC Club Meet
    For students who missed House events or want to record official times.
  • 25 February (Tue) – Quads Carnival
    Preparation meet for PSA and ACC selections.
  • 13 March (Thu) – PSA Inters Carnival
    Final GGS Boys Team based on Quads results.
  • 27 March (Thu) – ACC B Division Carnival
    Main interschool event for both girls and boys.

Registration Deadline: Friday 7 February. Please ensure you’re signed up by then to be considered.

Swimming Pathways Beyond Guildford Grammar

For swimmers looking to take their skills further, there are excellent opportunities beyond the school program, including local swim clubs, district and state meets, and development squads. These pathways offer additional training, competition experience, and a chance to progress through the broader swimming community. If you’d like support connecting with external programs or understanding your options, please feel free to reach out to Mr Jo-Kovacs for guidance.

Squad Selection for ACC & PSA

Selection will be based on:

• Attendance at training and events
• Performance at House, Club, and Quads meets
• Coach assessments on attitude, teamwork, and effort

Uniform Requirements

• GGS Swimming Bathers – Compulsory for all training and competition
Competition Days – GGS sports uniform with navy Swimming Polo or navy sports top for travel
GGS Swim Cap – Compulsory for competition
Goggles & Water Bottle – Required at all sessions

Training equipment like kickboards, pull buoys, and fins are provided. Snorkels are optional.
