At Guildford Grammar School, the Years 9-12 program offers students the opportunity to take ownership of their learning, explore their strengths and shape a pathway that aligns with their personal and academic goals. With robust academic programs, dedicated support structures and expansive co-curricular opportunities, these years prepare students for life beyond school.

Year 9
Building Independence and Self-Discovery
In Year 9, students delve deeper into core subjects and begin to explore a broader range of electives that foster independence and self-discovery. This year serves as a bridge to the more specialised studies of Years 10-12, allowing students to explore their interests and develop essential skills. Year 9 students benefit from a supportive network that includes Mentors and a dedicated Assistant Deputy Principal, ensuring they have guidance during this transitional phase.

Year 10
Defining Personal Goals and Preparing for Senior Studies
Year 10 students make pivotal decisions that set the foundation for their senior years. Through core subjects and two elective courses each semester, students have the chance to explore diverse interests. Options may include:
- Creative Arts: Dance, Drama, Sculpture, Visual Arts
- Technologies: Computer Science, Engineering, Metal Technology
- Humanities and Philosophy: Media, Philosophy in Popular Film
- Physical Education and Sciences: Physical Education Studies
This year is structured to help students develop academic confidence and personal responsibility, supported by the Strive Program for high-achieving students and targeted support for those who need it.

Years 11 and 12
Personalised Pathways to Achieve Success
In Years 11 and 12, students select from a range of pathways designed to align with their goals and interests, including:
- ATAR Pathway: Academic courses geared for university admission
- General and VET Pathways: Practical, career-focused courses leading to vocational certifications and TAFE qualifications
- WorkReady Program: Hands-on experiences aimed at workforce readiness
Each student is supported by Mentors, Heads of House and a dedicated Assistant Deputy Principal who guide them through their chosen pathway, offering advice on study strategies, wellbeing and future planning. Core subjects include English and a mix of five other courses from areas like Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities, Languages and The Arts.
