Preparatory School
Years 3-6
Our Years 3-6 program is a dynamic stage of discovery and growth, fostering independence, curiosity and resilience.
Our teachers take the time to understand each student’s unique learning style, providing tailored support to help them achieve personal excellence. Building on foundational skills, this program encourages students to explore new interests, take on responsibilities and develop a strong sense of community, preparing them for the transition to Senior School.

Inquiry Learning and Critical Thinking
Our inquiry approach empowers students to explore topics deeply, ask questions and engage in collaborative projects. Hands-on experiences and guided inquiry promote critical thinking and problem-solving, encouraging each student to take ownership of their learning journey with confidence and curiosity.

Building Literacy and Numeracy Foundations
With a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, Years 3-6 students deepen foundational skills in reading, writing and mathematics through interactive activities, discussions, and practical applications. This equips them with the skills and confidence to engage with more complex subjects as they progress.

Broadening Horizons Through Specialist Programs
A diverse range of specialist programs, including visual arts, music, drama, dance, physical education, STEAM, technology and French, allows students to explore their talents, develop new interests and gain confidence. Each program is designed to inspire creativity and self-expression, supporting students’ growth in both knowledge and self-awareness.

Leadership and Responsibility
The Years 3-6 journey includes character-building and leadership opportunities through peer support, student councils, and team projects. These experiences help students develop responsibility, teamwork, and empathy, fostering active, engaged members of the Guildford Grammar School community.

Outdoor Learning and Environmental Stewardship
With our beautiful campus as a resource, students engage in outdoor learning through programs like Bush School and the broader Outdoor Learning Program, which provides transformative experiences in nature from Year 1 to Year 9. These activities build a strong connection to nature and foster environmental stewardship, encouraging respect, resilience and a sense of responsibility toward the world around them.

A Supportive Environment
Guildford Grammar School’s Years 3-6 program is anchored by a nurturing, inclusive environment. Our dedicated educators and wellbeing programs ensure that every child feels valued, respected and supported, helping students develop resilience, empathy and confidence as they grow.
As part of this commitment, we provide all students with access to the latest technology through our school-provided technology program. From Year 3 onwards, each student is provided with their own personal device, ensuring they have the tools to succeed while fostering creativity, collaboration and innovation throughout their educational journey.
