Our Council plays a vital role in guiding our vision and upholding our commitment to excellence.
Comprised of dedicated individuals with diverse expertise, the Council provides strategic leadership that supports the School’s mission, values and long-term growth. Working closely with the School’s leadership, the Council ensures that Guildford Grammar remains a place where tradition and innovation come together to offer an exceptional educational experience for every student.

Experience: Chartered accountant, Audit and Assurance Partner at Hall Chadwick, past Guildford Grammar School parent.

Sue Shaw

Experience: Principalship in four independent Anglican schools, university lecturer, AISWA leadership mentor.
Areas of speciality: The role of the Principal, governance, management and operation of schools, culture building, managing staff, pastoral care.

The Reverend Canon Dr Philip Raymont

Experience: Former Senior Chaplain and of Religion, Philosophy and Ethics at Guildford Grammar School, Deputy Head and Head of Residential Colleges in Australian universities, Lecturer.
Areas of speciality: Faith, philosophy, ethics, leadership.

Byron Savage

Old Guildfordians Association Nominee.
Experience: Accountant with over 30 years of experience in practice, commerce and the public sector in Australia and the United Kingdom, Council work with professional organisations, Old Guildfordian and Guildford Grammar School parent.
Area of speciality: Accounting, finance, operations, infrastructure, law and governance.

Peter Law
BA Arts (Journalism), Curtin University
P&F Representative.
Experience: Journalist with more than 20 years of experience in Australia and the United Kingdom. Former State Political Editor at The West Australian and Chief of Staff at The West Australian and The Sunday Times. Previous roles in reporting and news editing at regional and national newspapers, including The Times (London). Currently Media Manager at Mineral Resources Limited, responsible for media engagement, strategic communications, and government relations.
Area of speciality: Journalism, media relations, strategic communications, crisis management, government relations, and policy development.

Chanelle van den Berg
BEd (Early Childhood and Primary), BA Australian Indigenous Studies
Experience: Chanelle brings substantial expertise in early childhood education, Indigenous education and enhancing access and participation in the tertiary sector.
Currently Pro Vice Chancellor First Nations at Murdoch University. Chanelle has previously held positions as Head of the Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre and Director of Student Success, Pathways and Aboriginal Education.
Area of speciality: Early childhood and Indigenous education.

Georgie Sadler
BAppSc(NatResMgt) (Hons), BSc (NatResMgt) (Hons)
Experience: With qualifications in science and her experience in agribusiness, Georgie’s insight into the agricultural community and families is critical to our strategic focus as a school.
Georgie is a current school parent and is deeply connected with our rural community as a significant contributor to our Boarding Parents Association over several years.
Area of speciality: Agribusiness, regional communities, boarding.
