Congratulations to Year 12 student Lachlan Madden who has been awarded an Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to the top 50 applicants across Australia who applied for officer training entry into ADFA for 2019. Over 4000 people applied this year. Lachlan is following in the footsteps of his Old Guildfordian father Craig (Wb 82-86), who also received the scholarship when he was in Year 12, entering ADFA in 1987.
This year's Christmas Pudding Appeal is underway and all members of the community have the chance to order their Christmas puddings online, with a portion of sales being returned to the Anglicare WA Christmas Appeal.

Crazy Hair Day at the Preparatory School raised over $20,000 towards the Leukaemia Foundation, with 30 students shaving their head to raise valuable funds towards the cause.
In the lead up to Crazy Hair Day, our beautiful and caring Kindy students decided they wanted to draw pictures for the children in hospital that aren't fortunate enough to go to school. The results melted our heart.
Applications are now open for the Go Forward Scholarships that are available to students entering Years 8 to 11 in 2019, who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend Guildford Grammar School and who display outstanding characteristics across a broad range of areas including high academic achievement. The successful applicant will be a student who has displayed qualities of excellence, respect, service, leadership and commitment within their school and wider community. The Go Forward Scholarships are not open to students who are currently attending Guildford Grammar School.

At the end of each reporting cycle we formally recognise those students who have exhibited excellence or improvement in their attitude and effort towards their academic studies, through the Honour Rolls for Attitude and Effort. These Honour Rolls are based on the frequency with which students have demonstrated positive learning behaviours.

Things are about to get CRAZY in the Preparatory School as our students and staff prepare for Crazy Hair Day, to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation. Over the past 12 years we have raised over $108,570 to help find a cure and provide support for people with Leukaemia.
