Term 3 Week 1
Welcome to the start of the second half of the school year, which is progressing rapidly as always. I hope everyone enjoyed their winter break with family and friends and students are refreshed and ready for Term 3. It was pleasing to note the number of students who took part in the ATAR Attack revision program over the break and I wish all of our Year 12 students well for their final semester at the School.
During the holidays we had students involved in two tours. The cricket tour to the United Kingdom was a great success and the team won six of their seven games, against a number of English clubs at u/19 level and also against Camberwell Grammar School from Victoria. The ski trip to New Zealand also took place, which provided students with the opportunity to enjoy the exceptional natural beauty of New Zealand and outstanding skiing conditions.
This term we welcome a number of staff to the School who are replacing teachers on Long Service Leave.
- Mathematics: Mrs Anita Kakar and Mr Geoff Lewis
- English: Mrs Cherie Smilovitis
- HASS: Mrs Marissa Pirie
- Media: Mr Glen Strindberg and Mr Jordan Vagnoni
- D&T: Mr Tim Bottrell
- Learning Enrichment: Mrs Pip Lawson
We also welcome a large number of new students who are joining the School this term. We trust that they and their families will all feel a traditional warm welcome to our community and thrive in the years ahead.
The team below has qualified for the semi-finals in the Mock Trial Competition. The trial will be held this evening at The Supreme Court against La Salle College.

Toby Ashworth (12Sc) and Angus Grigson (12Fr) had an awesome time at their first Hattah Desert Race, Australia's biggest off-road racing event. 405 competitors entered from all over Australia. Angus and Toby were very successful in completing the race with Angus placing 101st outright and Toby placing 150th outright. In their under 19s class, Angus placed 15th and Toby 23rd. Considering this was their first time competing in the race against national competitors, their results are to be commended.
