Mathematics

The Faculty of Mathematics is committed to providing the best possible education for students of Mathematics at all levels. The department uses the latest in technological and virtual equipment to ensure that our students are well versed in modern mathematical learning.

In Years 8 and 9, all students study a core program with the opportunity for extension and remediation depending on individual needs. Students are placed in bands to enhance the teaching and learning process. All are involved with the Mathletics on-line program. In Year 10, a variety of courses are offered allowing students to study at a level appropriate to their ability and needs. High achievers are encouraged through enrichment programs and competitions to expand their knowledge, whilst support is available to help those who find the work difficult. In the upper school, a full range of TEE and non-TEE subjects are offered in Year 12 and the new courses of study are offered in Year 11. Students receive instruction from experienced teachers in small classes and examination techniques are emphasized to best prepare students for the external examinations.

The Faculty of Mathematics welcomes any inquiries from prospective parents.
