Basketball

Basketball has been played amongst the PSA Schools for over 20 years.  The standard of play is in the top ten percent of high schools in Western Australia and Guildford Grammar School basketballers compare very favourably with those playing in other regions.

The annual competition for the Blackwood Cup, the trophy for the most successful basketball team in the PSA, is very intense.  Although the School last won the cup in 1993, it has been a strong competitor every year.  In 2006 Guildford Grammar School finished third in the quest for the Cup.

Several PSA players, including Old Guildfordians Cameron Jackson, Tom Bayly, and Colin Moore have advanced to play at amateur and professional levels.

Basketball is available to all boys in the Senior School. There are at least two teams of 10 to 12 players in each year group.
Senior boys train in the School Gymnasium from 3.45pm to 5.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and their games are held on Saturday mornings.

Junior boys train at the same times in the same venue on Mondays and Wednesdays and their games are played on Friday afternoons.
