Mitchell Wells (He 85-92) was named by The Australian newspaper as one of Australia’s 100 Emerging Leaders. Mitchell was recognised in the category of Wealth, the 24 year old Energy Industry Strategist had the following written about him in the Weekend Australian Magazine, April 18-19, 2009:
Mitchell Wells believes “you only get out of life what you put into it”. Born in Perth, he spent some of his early years in the Kimberley on Fossil Downs, a family station since 1883. He studied by correspondence and School of the Air, boarded at Guildford Grammar, and completed degrees in law and commerce at Murdoch University. In 2003 he became involved in London’s successful bid to host the 2012 Olympics. Wells returned to Perth to become chief operating officer at Amadeus Energy, where he is helping to position the company for the next generation of oil and gas plays. “I’d like to continue working in an environment where I am able to make a positive contribution to people’s lives by being a good corporate role model, mentoring, and engaging where possible in philanthropy,” he says.
