Hair flying at Guildford Grammar School!

18 Mar 2011 | Hair flying at Guildford Grammar School!

The hair was certainly flying at Guildford Grammar School on Wednesday 16 March, when 20 students sacrificed their hair to raise just under $2000 towards the Leukaemia Foundation, through the World's Greatest Shave.

Leading the way, School Captain Patrick Kenworthy, at the mercy of Headmaster Stephen Webber, was the first to go under the clippers.

Encouraged by a large cheer squad of supporters, a further 19 boys from Years 7 to 12 took to the makeshift barber's chair for their makeover.

Teachers, students and parents all handled the clippers at various times to help reach the goal of 20 shaved heads.

Taking it one step further, the Rowing 1st VIII were all shaved to the scalp, with clippers traded for old-fashioned foam and razor.  Parents and members of the Guildford Rowing Association carefully shaved the entire team, ensuring they will be hard to miss on the river!
