CAGE BIRDS - YEAR 10 DRAMA PRODUCTION

David Campton's absurdist play, Cagebirds, revolves around the suspended lives of six men. Their lives are thrown into turmoil when The Wild One is flung into their midst.
The Wild One challenges the mens' existence and when faced with the option of staying or leaving, it becomes painfully obvious which the group choose, much to the Wild One's distress and disbelief.
Written in 1971, the play was originally written for an all female cast, but the commitment of this all male cast will leave you wondering how it could have been done any other way.
Director Lucy Felstead said the small cast has been highly committed to the process involved in this challenging and unusual play. "It can be a difficult play based on its metaphorical nature, but the students have made the process both a fun and enjoyable one."
Entry to the play is via a gold coin donation.
