Students coordinate run to stop trafficking

This Sunday, 30 June, a group of Senior School students are hosting a 5-kilometre run/walk for Guildford Grammar School students, staff and parents to raise money and awareness for Stop Trafficking 5K.

The walk will depart from the Jacaranda tree in the Senior School at 1.00pm and there will be a free afternoon tea at 2.00pm. If you are unable to join the walk but wish to make a donation you can do so online at https://stoptrafficking5k.org/guildfordgrammar. If you do wish to participate, please sign up via the website as we need to track numbers for catering purposes.

About Stop Trafficking 5K

In 2015, a group of inspired individuals came together to form a charity aimed at intercepting trafficked people before they reached their destination, focusing their efforts in Southeast Asia, one of the worst spots in the world with regards to human trafficking. This charity is called StopTrafficking5k. With just $130, they can fully fund the interception of a person being trafficked. With $270, they can give a microloan for people at risk of being trafficked to start small businesses, reducing the lure of trafficker’s false promises.
