Indigenous Scholarships Now Open

Indigenous Scholarships for entry in 2020 are now open.

Guildford Grammar School has a long history of providing educational opportunities for Indigenous students.  To date, over 200 Indigenous students have attended the School, dating back to our first Indigenous student, Charlie Burns, who attended from 1905-1909.

Charlie Burns left the School in 1909 to join the Australian Army and fight overseas.  Larry Kickett and John McGuire are two notable Indigenous Old Boys of the School, both of whom  have enjoyed outstanding success in their sporting and professional careers.  2009 graduate Dylan Collard, was named 2013 NAIDOC Male Youth of the Year, had graduated from law and is now a teacher.

Each year a number of our graduates enter university programs as well as following career pathways through TAFE and apprenticeships.  Recent graduate Matthew Boddington (2016) entered an FMG cadetship and has recently been appointed to a full time role with the company.

We have a number of scholarships available for Indigenous students, either as day students or boarders:

NewGen Power Nyoongar Scholarship Scheme
Fortescue Scholarship Scheme
Inkpen Scholarship
Bayley Scholarship

Madalah Scholarships
Applications for 2020 will be accepted between Monday 6 May and Friday 14 June, 2019.
