Guildford has a number of Scholarships available for worthy applicants.
Scholarships are awarded to students after sitting the annual A.C.E.R. Co-operative Scholarship Examination to be held on Saturday, 10 May, 2008. Scholarships are for entrance into Years 8 and 11,  2009, with various remissions of fees available for successful applicants. The closing date for online registration is 5:00pm AEST, 11 April, 2008. The registration fee is $85. Apart from Academically based Scholarships, the School also awards Music and Choral Scholarships for students of outstanding ability.

YEAR 8

 
The D'Arcy Slater Scholarship
The D'Arcy Slater Scholarship is awarded annually to a student entering Year 8 and is in memory of D'Arcy who died in tragic circumstances in 1991.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated the potential to make a strong all-round contribution to the School and possess early indications of leadership potential. The student should also have represented his Primary School or Club in a sporting capacity and preference is given to candidates who come from a worthy family which, for financial reasons, might not normally consider the enrolment of a son at the School.

The Scholarship provides for the full remission of tuition fees and is tenable for five years, assuming satisfactory progress is made. A Portfolio is required showing certificates, awards, press clippings, personal references and any other relevant material highlighting your son's particular ability. The Portfolio will be returned to you once the Scholarship has been awarded.
 
Open Music Scholarship
This award is made to boys showing a particular talent in the playing of at least one musical instrument, and is usually, though not always awarded for entry into Year 8. Candidates must be of good character, show evidence of the potential to fulfill the academic requirements of the School and also demonstrate an interest in other co-curricular activities in addition to music. The value of the Scholarship includes remission of music tuition fees and remission of up to half the annual School tuition fee. It is awarded for five years assuming satisfactory progress is made.
 
Music Instrumental Scholarship
Three Music Instrumental Scholarships are available for boys who are talented string, brass or woodwind instrumentalists of AMEB Grade 3 or above. At least two of these Scholarships will be awarded to boys who are not currently enrolled at the School. The value of the Scholarships is full remission of their music tuition fees and instrument hire. Each is tenable for as long as the student remains a significant contributor to Music at the School.
 
Choral Scholarship
Choral Scholarships are offered to boys who are either presently enrolled in School or who wish to enter the School. A Scholarship applies while the boy remains a member of the Choir. Its value includes free music tuition for singing, or on one instrument and it may be held in addition to any other Scholarship. 

Harry Campbell Pope Scholarship
A number of Scholarships are awarded to boys who are good scholars and whose all-round ability gives them the potential to make a major contribution to the life of the School. They are awarded for entry into Year 8 and are tenable for up to five years, providing that satisfactory progress is made.
 
The Calder Crowther Scholarship (Year 8 day boy) - **This scholarship will be available again for boys entering Year 8 in 2009.
This Scholarship is awarded every two years and has the value of half fees for a day boy and is tenable for five years, provided satisfactory progress is made. The Award is for boys entering Year 8, and candidates are selected from the State Primary Schools in the vicinity of Guildford.
 

Year 11 Scholarship
Year 11 Academic Scholarships are tenable for the boy's final two years of Senior School, with the award a rebate of up to half the tuition fees for each year. Candidates will need to sit the annual Scholarship Exam with satisfactory performance in Year 11 necessary to ensure the continuation of the Scholarship in Year 12.
