Parents and Friends Society
The Guildford Grammar School Parents and Friends (P&F) provides all parents with the opportunity to participate in and contribute to the large number of school-related activities taking place each year.
The aims of the Guildford Grammar School P&F are:
- The fostering of friendships and development of a support network within the Guildford Grammar School community
- To acts as a conduit between the parents and the School.
- To co-ordinate social occasions where parents, friends and staff of the School can join together to foster friendship
- To support the School and its aims
- To benefit our child’s education by assisting in the allocation of the funds
The P&F offers valuable support to parents, one of which is by providing information forums on a number of topics relating directly to their child’s development.
The P&F is not a fundraising body. Its funding is derived from parents’ subscriptions. Each year the Society’s major outgoings are grants for the School, for which teachers must apply. They include professional development for individual staff, capital projects and skills development.
The P&F meets in the John Moody Learning Centre on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7.30 pm. These meetings provide you with a forum to raise any issues that may concern you. General Meetings are advertised in the Weekly Bulletin. The committee members are elected in November for the forthcoming year, although all parents are members of the Association and are more than welcome to attend any P&F General Meeting.
An Annual Sundowner is held on the day before school returns for the New Year and enables parents to meet on an informal basis. This is a wonderful way to meet the new and old parents.
